Homelessness, Housing & Neighbourhoods

Homelessness remains a major challenge for many marginalized urban populations in Vancouver. Homelessness and unstable housing have been associated with a variety of risks, including elevated risk for HIV infection and overdose. For many people, homelessness also results in the use of public space for drug use. UHRI researchers have conducted studies of homelessness and public injecting that focus on the health risks associated with homelessness and the role that environment plays in shaping risk-taking associated with public injecting.
